Cross compiler

Hello,

I want to compile some of my programs on UNIX with the
target set to cygwin.
Can anybody tell me if I need any special packages for
this?
And what is the exact target name I need to specify?
I hope somebody can answer these questions for me,
because I'm a little stuck...
